são paulo, 1983. composer, improviser and contemporary music performer (electric guitar). has been playing regularly in several cities in brazil, south america and europe. his music often deals with ideas related to the physical (limits of the body / instrument), the specific (individuals / instruments; techniques / preparations) and the impossible. Undergraduate studies in composition at state university of campinas, masters at university of são paulo; currently developing phd at the same university.
Born in São Paulo, 1983. Studies composition at UNICAMP, and Masters in music at University of São Paulo ("Physicality in recent musical practices").
Works as composer, improviser and performer. As a performer, has participated in the premiere of several pieces by Brazilian composers. “Vértebra” [2012], his first solo CD as a performer, has pieces by five different composers, all dedicated to him and written specially for the project. In his practice is frequent the use of extended techniques and live-electronics. In 2012 also released the free improvisation album "Trios and Quartetos", in duo with Henrique Iwao and the participation of several guests, available for free download at
www.limiares.com.br.
As a composer, works with electroacoustic music (with two album released with his pieces: “Dance Music” [2008] and “Música Eletrônica 2004” [2009]), multimedia works (such as the dance/installation “Corpos Urbanos” [2008] and the dance/lights/music performance “Trio” [2011]) and chamber music (recent works include the tring trio “r r” [2011], for string trio, and the electric guitar quartet “27s(pNM)”, written for Zwerm). His music often puts the performers in extreme situations, demanding full engagement of the body and questioning the standardization of techniques, materials, forms and approaches.
Also is one of the organizers of the activities of Ibrasotope, a collective of experimental music in São Paulo.
